Custom Fields can be created to further track or define your news coverage or activities. An example of a Custom Field is a read field for news coverage enabling you to quickly track which clips you have already reviewed. Follow the directions below to create a Custom Field to use in your news coverage or activities.
Click the Person icon in the upper right hand side of your toolbar and select Settings.
Select Custom Fields from the Settings Panel.
Creating a Custom Field
Click on the +New Custom Field drop- down.
Select whether the Custom Field will pertain to News or Activities
Complete the form to create your new Custom Field
Give the Custom Field a title
Select the type of information that you will be putting in the field: Text, Memo, Number, Yes/No, Date, Single-Select or Multi-Select.
The next field will differ based on what Type of field you selected to define. If the field should have a default value, you will enter it here. If the field is Multi-Select, you will have the opportunity to enter multiple values.
If the field is a Text field, you can define a character maximum limit for the field. The default maximum is 255 characters but this can be lowered to meet your needs.
Click Save.
Using Custom News Fields
Once you create a News Custom Field, you will see it in the profile for the news clip.
To change to value for the custom field, click the pencil icon.
A menu will appear enabling you to select the value for the custom field
Using Custom Activity Fields
Any Activity Custom Fields will appear on the form used to log an activity
Values for the Custom Field will show on the
form so that you can make the appropriate choice.
