How does SAML Single Sign-On (SSO) work?

Written by Cision

Overview

This guide explains the steps required to set up Single Sign-On (SSO) between your organisation’s Identity Provider (IdP) and the C3 platform.

SSO allows your users to log in securely using your company credentials.

What You Can Expect

The setup is a collaborative process between your team and our Support/Development teams. We will guide you through each step.

Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1: Initial Setup (C3 Support Team)

Once you have instructed us to do so, our Support Team will begin the setup by sharing your Company Login Name with our Development Team.

Step 2: C3 SAML Details (Provided to You)

Our Development Team will generate the required SAML configuration details and share them with you via our Support Team:

· Entity ID

· ACS URL (Assertion Consumer Service URL)

You will need these details to configure your Identity Provider.

Step 3: Configure Your Identity Provider (Your Team)

Using the details provided, your IT/IdP Admin team will configure SSO in your Identity Provider (e.g., Okta, Azure AD, OneLogin).

Once completed, please share the following with us:

· SAML2 Entity ID (IdP Entity ID)

o This must be in URL format (e.g., https://your-idp-domain/...)

· Metadata File (XML)

o This file contains your SSO configuration and certificate

Step 4: Final Configuration (C3 Dev Team)

Our Development Team will complete the setup by adding your:

· SAML2 Entity ID

· Metadata file

to the C3 platform.

Step 5: User Setup

Once SSO is configured:

· Please ensure all users in C3 have their correct email addresses added to the SSO segment within their user accounts.

o

· These email addresses are used to match the users in your IdP during login.

Testing

After setup, we recommend testing the SSO login to confirm everything is working correctly.

Our Customer Support Team will assist you if needed.
