Archiving a Broadcast Clip with TVEyes
You can archive broadcast clips within Cision Communications Cloud. Archiving a clip means that the portion of the video/stream you select will remain available in the platform indefinitely (unless deleted).
Broadcast video/stream content provided by TVEyes is only available for the first 28 days. After this period, the video/stream is no longer accessible, although the closed caption text and associated metrics remain.
No additional package is required to archive clips. This feature is available to customers monitoring broadcast content.
Finding Broadcast Content to Archive
First, locate the broadcast content you want to archive.
Note: Some broadcast outlets (such as Fox News) do not provide video/stream, only closed caption text.
Because video/stream is only available for 28 days, ensure you are viewing recent content.
Navigate to your News Search
Apply the Medium & Media Type filter and select Broadcast (TV specific types available in the drop down)
Select 'Search'
Locate the clip in the results
If needed, apply additional filters such as Date to refine your results.
When you select a result, the content panel will display:
Associated data (Outlet, Media Type)
Video/stream (where available)
Radio mentions display a placeholder image
TV mentions display a broadcast image
Select Edit Clip to open the clip and view the transcript or closed caption text.
Note: The preview shown initially is shortened. A longer version (up to 10 minutes) is available in the editing view.
Editing and Creating an Archived Clip
To edit or create a archived clip, click on any TVEyes broadcast mention found in your news coverage and locate the broadcast clip under the associated data.
Click on 'Edit Clip' - this will open up the TVEyes player.
To edit your clip, select the Editor tab found on the top panel. Select a start point by clicking 'Set Start' and click 'Set End' after the segment you want has completed.
Click Preview to check the result. Once you are satisfied with your edit click Next.
To complete your edit, click 'Finish' to archive the clip.
Viewing an Archived Clip
To view your saved clip, navigate back to your news search, locate the coverage mention and you will see your saved search under the original broadcast.
Sharing an Archived Clip
You can share coverage that includes archived clips by copying the clip URL and pasting it into your own email or document
Note: The clip URL can be accessed externally without logging into Cision Communications Cloud.
Downloading a Broadcast Clip with TVEyes
Downloading broadcast clips outside of Cision Communications Cloud is only available to customers who purchased a download package prior to TVEyes becoming Cision’s broadcast provider.
No new download packages are available.
If you are unsure whether your account includes downloads, contact your Cision Account Executive.
If you do not have a download package, you can still archive clips within Cision Communications Cloud.
