Adjusting Analytics Profiles and Categories in News

If you have Analytics Profiles set up in the Cision Communications Cloud, the platform will do some auto-tagging for you according to the Analytics Profiles and Categories you have set up. You have the ability to change the Analytics Categories applied. Changes to the Analytics Categories and Profiles will influence charts generated in the Analytics Dashboard.

Analytics Profiles and Categories are either set up by your Implementation Consultant during account set up or by you afterward. Click here to learn more about viewing and changing your Analytics Categories. Click here to learn how to create new Analytics Categories.

You can see the system applied Analytics Profiles (automatically applied tags) at the bottom of the clip profile. By each defined profile, you will find Tone, Prominence, and Impact (based on your subscription).

Tone– The tone for how your keyword is specifically mentioned in the clip. This is different from the overall tone of the clip.

Prominence Score – This is the score achieved by on a number of factors within an article such as the position of the keyword mention(s) within the clip and frequency of the mention(s). NOTE: Prominence scoring is an add-on feature of the Cision Communications Cloud. Contact your Account Executive if you want to consider incorporating this additional data.

Media Impact Score – This is the prominence score times the outlet/publication tier multiplier. The multiplier is based on the size of the publication. NOTE: Impact scoring is an add-on feature of the Cision Communications Cloud. Contact your Account Executive if you want to consider incorporating this additional data.

Manually Tagging Coverage

The Cision Communications Cloud enables you to both automatically and manually tag news to better organize it making it easier to find. Automatic is best for tagging coverage that always contains specific, predictable terms such as your organization’s name.

Manual Tagging is better suited for news coverage that requires a human eye to determine whether it is truly applicable to a category or not. Use cases for manual tagging include tagging for a weekly or monthly newsletter, campaigns, archived broadcast clips or irrelevant coverage (coverage that mentions your monitoring terms but is too loosely related to your monitoring goals).
