How Can I Manage our Platform Users?

Information on managing users on the Cision Communications Cloud platform.

Create or Add a User to the System

In order to add or remove a user, you must have System Administrator or Super User privileges.

Select the person icon from the upper right- hand corner of the screen and select Settings.

Select User Management from the Settings menu.

Click Add New User on the right-hand side of the User Management screen.

Enter information into the fields to complete the User Profile. The following fields are required and are denoted with asterisks (*): Username, Display Name, Country, Time Zone, Email, Password, Permissions, and Data Groups.

An Expiration Date can be added to limit the amount of time a user has access to the platform.

NOTE: Once saved, any user profile information such as a user's username, display name, and email address cannot be edited. To make any changes to any of these fields on a user profile, the account profile has to be disabled and recreated as a new user.

The following definitions are useful when assigning permissions:

System Administration– User has full access to the system.

Standard User- User has full access to the system excluding Administration.

Read-Only– User can view all information but cannot add to, delete from, or edit the system.

A user may be given access to one or many data groups, which determines which keyword searches they have access to. To give a user access to a data group or groups, place a check in the box preceding each data group.

At the bottom of the profile page, you can select which page within the platform should be the user's default landing page.

Click on the upside-down triangle to view and select landing page options.

Click Save to add the user to the system once the User Profile is complete.

Expiring a User's Access to the System

To remove an existing user’s access to the system, you will need to assign the user an Expiration Date that has occurred in the past.

Click on the Save button in the upper- right corner. This will terminate a user’s access to the system immediately.
